On Board Since August 2003 OCSC: Why do you sail? SH: I sail because I love the feeling of the boat moving effortlessly through the water and having all my worries disapearing just as effortlessly. OCSC: What do you enjoy about working at OCSC? SH: I love dealing with all the challenges that each day brings, as well as working with the enjoyable OCSC crew and patrons. OCSC: What's your sailing background? SH: I sailed sporatically during summers in Sweden as a child on a family friend's folkboat where I learned to appreciate the peacefulness of sailing. I picked sailing back up 20 years later. OCSC: When you're not sailing, what can we find you doing? SH: "Because I live in Davis, you can often find me travelling on the train between Berkeley and home where I see OCSC members now and again. On a beautiful day there is a good chance I will be shooting basketball during my lunch hour. OCSC: What are your top five sailing books of all time? SH: No favorites in particular -- any sailing book that can enlighten me about endless world of sailing does it for me.
