The Catalina 32 (similar model pictured here) is one of the more popular weekenders in the US, and for good reason: It has a large cockpit, mid-boom sheeting arrangement and the wide Catalina beam that creates lots of cockpit and below decks elbow room. It has a wing keel which keeps the draft short and provides some weight low in the keel. The sail plan allows for the boat to sail reasonably well. Due to its beam, it is best to sail the 32 as flat as possible.
