OCSC: What sailing experience did you have before you came to OCSC?

SW: I had very limited sailing experience prior to joining OCSC. My experience consisted of crewing on dinghies and two entry-level classes from another sailing school which lead to a handful of charters on the Bay.     

OCSC: What do you like about sailing?

SW: That's simple...it makes me happy. I enjoy the freedom, experiencing nature (ocean, atmosphere, sun and stars), the adventure / journey, the challenge and connecting with people.

OCSC: What brought you to OCSC?

SW: OCSC's reputation is what led me here. The quality of education, diversity of classes and well maintained and popular boats has kept me here. Now, everyone knows my name and I feel like I'm a part of something and that's what will keep me here.

OCSC: Why did you decide to become a member?
 
SW: I joined OCSC for the sailing education and also the economics.   

OCSC: What sailing goals do you have?

SW: Just to sail. How will I integrate sailing into the rest of my life? I don't know- we'll have to wait and see. The important thing is that I stay involved with sailing. Sailing is one of those things in life that always puts a smile on my face.  

OCSC:  What do you do when you're not sailing?

SW: Think about sailing... all kidding aside, I get a lot of enjoyment out of sailing so I think about it a lot. Plus, I see sailing playing a role in my future and for that reason I take my sailing education / experience seriously. OCSC's curriculum has allowed me to grow and continue my education and that's valuable to me. I view my sailing education like my college degree in that it is an investment in my future that will provide a lifetime of benefit / enjoyment. By the way, I also enjoy taking guitar lessons and snowboard in the winter months.
