OCSC offers six seminars that we commonly refer to as "study halls". 
In addition to our intensive practical sail training sessions, we offer equally intensive classroom-based education on all aspects of safety, navigation and seamanship, scheduled separately from our core on-the-water training. This strategy properly accounts for the different mind sets needed for absorbing academic information and developing physical skills out on the water, and also ensures that your practical training is most efficient by maximizing time on the boat.

We offer two seminars at each of the first three levels of our certification based training, Learn -to-Sail (Basic Keelboat), Learn-to-Cruise (Basic Cruising) and Learn-to-Bareboat-Charter (Bareboat Cruising). The seminars are free to any OCSC student or member, whether or not they are attending the above training.
