What's the difference between an injector and injector pump? Or a primary and secondary filter? A Nicopress and a Swage? These questions and more are important to anyone who is responsible to care for a vessel's systems, whether as an owner or skipper on a cruise. This course will teach you the most elemental parts of vessel maintenance, from the power train to the electrical system and sails to winches. In this course, you'll have some hands-on practice in maintenance, troubleshooting and repair. Our instructors will discuss the most important tools to have in your bag and how properly to use, store and care for them. They will also cover development of a preventive maintenance plan and record keeping so that owners can have confidence in their vessel when the going gets tough. We will also cover safe tool use as well as safe techniques for troubleshooting and repairing. Topics covered: - Diesel and outboard engines
