Walking the Talk
These listings are ocean stewardship activities we've been engaged with both in the Bay Area and at sites around the world. Our thinking is simple and is driven by our mission: We are sailors on a voyage of discovery. One thing we have discovered is the frailty of the oceans around the world. Long thought to have a near infinite capacity to absorb the impacts of human activity, the life-sustaining ability of the world's oceans are now being threatened in ways we couldn't understand even a decade ago. We don't pretend that our Ocean Advocacy efforts are going to save the oceans in and of themselves. But we do believe that all acts of environmental stewardship (and abuse) make a difference. Our goal as a company is to operate responsibly, maintain our fleet using environmentally sound practices and teach all our students not only how to sail without doing harm, but also how to live on land with life-affirming practices that keep us responsible for the role we play in the beautiful web of all living systems.
