OCSC: Why do you sail?
KA: I like the idea of harnessing the wind in order to power the boat as well as the sensation of moving swiftly yet silently over the water.
OCSC: What do you enjoy about working at OCSC?
KA: I enjoy cruising among the islands or along a coastline where I can stop every so often to explore. The people at OCSC are just an incredible group of good, fun folks.
OCSC: What's your sailing background?
KA: I learned to sail at OCSC as a beginner at age 45, nine years ago. It became a passion, and five years ago they invited me to become an instructor.
OCSC: When you're not sailing, what can we find you doing?
KA: Travelling,
OCSC: What are your top five sailing books of all time?
KA: I cannot recommend highly enough the book: First You Have to Row a Little Boat: Reflections on Life and Living by Richard Bode. I think we should carry it in the store, it's terrific. It's all about learning to sail as a metaphor for life.
