OCSC: Why do you sail?

PS: I enjoy the quiet of being out on the water.

OCSC: What do you enjoy about working at OCSC?

PS: I enjoy the independence of being out on the water with the students.

OCSC: What's your sailing background?

PS: I started sailing in 1960 when in the Navy and then moved aboard when I first retired in 1979. My wife and I lived aboard and cruised for the next ten years before coming to OCSC in 1989.

OCSC: When you're not sailing, what can we find you doing?"

PS: I do wood working projects and do some technical and fiction writing.

OCSC: What are your top five sailing books of all time?

PS: Bowditch; Voyage of the Sealion; Topsail & Battleaxe; The Oxford Companion to Ships and the Sea; the entire Hornblower series.
