OCSC: Why do you sail?
AT: I have always been fascinated by the fact that the wind hits the sails and the boat moves through the water, no engine or oars required. Every time I go sailing I am still in awe. Communing with nature at the interface of two dynamic fluids brings me a serinity like nothing else I know.
OCSC: What do you enjoy about working at OCSC?
AT: I have always enjoyed sharing my love for sailing. Teaching at OCSC gives me that opportunity. As a bonus, OCSC people are, quite simply, THE BEST!
OCSC: What's your sailing background?
AT: I began sailing as a teenager in 15' dingys on the lakes of North Carolina. I've since spent many wonderful days in boats and sailboards of all sizes from Sunfish to 40' ocean cruisers. I must admit I'm an ex-racer who still likes to go fast with a spinnaker up.
OCSC: When you're not sailing, what can we find you doing?
AT: My non-sailing time is spent dreaming about sailing while walking the dogs, bicycling, or playing my guitar.
